چکیده
This paper compares interaction and communication mechanisms used in distributed control systems, focusing on object-oriented and component-based development. The standard communication model used in distributed objectoriented systems is the remote method invocation. We argue that this client/server oriented model has some severe drawbacks when used in a control system where objects may have to broadcast information, spontaneously communicate environmental changes and where control autonomy is a crucial requirement. Therefore, we compare the traditional way of object invocation with a port-based scheme and the model of event channels. An application scenario from robot control is used to highlight similarities and differences among

COSMIC: a middleware for event-based interaction on CAN
Distributed factory automation systems benefit from field-busses which, in general, provide support for reliable and timely communication. These field-busses, however, provide rather low level communication objects and their features regarding quality aspects of communication are difficult to assess and use for applications. The paper presents COSMIC (Cooperating Smart devices), a middleware ar...
متن کاملA New Adaptive Load-Shedding and Restoration Strategy for Autonomous Operation of Microgrids: A Real-Time Study
Islanding operation is one of the main features of a MicroGrid (MG), which is realized regarding the presence of distributed energy resources (DERs). However, in order to deal with the control challenges, which an MG faces during island operation, particularly when the transition is associated with certain excessive load, an efficient control strategy is required. This paper introduces a Centra...
متن کاملA PRACTICAL APPROACH TO REAL-TIME DYNAMIC BACKGROUND GENERATION BASED ON A TEMPORAL MEDIAN FILTER
In many computer vision applications, segmenting and extraction of moving objects in video sequences is an essential task. Background subtraction, by which each input image is subtracted from the reference image, has often been used for this purpose. In this paper, we offer a novel background-subtraction technique for real-time dynamic background generation using color images that are taken fro...
متن کاملA Mobile and Fog-based Computing Method to Execute Smart Device Applications in a Secure Environment
With the rapid growth of smart device and Internet of things applications, the volume of communication and data in networks have increased. Due to the network lag and massive demands, centralized and traditional cloud computing architecture are not accountable to the high users' demands and not proper for execution of delay-sensitive and real time applications. To resolve these challenges, we p...
متن کاملMaximum Power Point Tracker for Photovoltaic Systems Based on Moth-Flame Optimization Considering Partial Shading Conditions
The performance of photovoltaic (PV) systems is highly dependent on environmental conditions. Due to probable changes in environmental conditions, the real-time control of PV systems is essential for exploiting their maximum possible power. This paper proposes a new method to track the maximum power point of PV systems using the moth-flame optimization algorithm. In this method, the PV DC-DC co...
